HEAVENLY BODIES
a photo-series
“HEAVENLY BODIES” is a photographic series that honors queer embodiment as celestial, sovereign, and sacred. Set against ethereal landscapes and textured urban spaces, this ongoing body of work reimagines queer and trans figures as modern-day mythic beings who stand radiant in their softness, defiant in their presence, and unapologetically divine.
The images below are from the series' inaugural chapter: “HEAVENLY BODIES: CAPE TOWN” — a visual meditation on liberation, intimacy, and the metaphysical power of queer existence..

Heavenly Bodies is a photographic series by Julian X, shot in Cape Town, New York CIty, and New Orleans, reimagining Black queer embodiment.
